Dr TOMASZ PERKOWSKI
Born
on the 9th of May 1969 in Warsaw. He graduated from the
Faculty of Marine Fisheries and Food Technology of Agricultural
University of Szczecin in 1993. In 1997, he defended his
doctoral thesis with honours in his faculty. He attended
post-graduate studies concerning Environmental Science
and Policy at the Central European University in Budapest.
In 2002 Dr Perkowski was awarded Master of Business Administration
from University of Szczecin.
He was a Junior Fellow of The Regional Environmental Center
with a seat in Budapest (1994), German Marshall Fund (1995)
and Open Society Foundation (1998). In 1997, he was awarded
with a medal for young scientists from the Scientific Society
of Szczecin.
While a student, Dr Perkowski was confined with the following
obligations: member of the board of the Coalition Clean
Baltic, an international non-governmental organisation
dealing with protection of the Baltic Sea, member of Country
Commission of Global Environmental Facility (Small Grants
Program). In January 1999, he was appointed Chief of the
Public Relation Department of the Western Pomeranian Sick
Fund. From March to December 2000, he worked in Press Office
of the City Council in Szczecin. In 2001, he became a Member
of the Board of Trustees of the National Foundation for
Environmental Protection.
Working in The Foundation for Polish Science, he began
in December 2000 as Director of Development. The Council
of the Foundation appointed him, from the 1st of December
2001 the Deputy President of the Foundation.
