These pictures show examples of support granted by FNP to Polish scientists and research centres abroad


(1) FNP is a supporting member of PIASA (the Polish Institute of Arts and Sciences of America).

A grant from FNP was used to cover some of the costs incurred in the redecoration and modernisation of the archives section at the Józef Piłsudski Institute in New York (SUBIN Programme).

FNP co-financed the publication of an English-Polish and Polish-English Dictionary edited by the Kościuszko Foundation.

(3) FNP covered the cost of a snow scooter for a research expedition by the University of Gdańsk to Spitzbergen (SUBIN Programme). Photo by Piotr Celiński.


(4) Due to FNP assistance, the terrace at the library of The Polish Social and Cultural Centre in London has been enlarged and adapted to serve as part of the library (LIBRARIUS Programme).

A fire alarm has been installed at the archives of the General Sikorski Polish Institute and Museum in London, financed from a grant obtained from FNP (SUBIN Programme).


(5) Due to a grant from FNP, a manuscript storeroom has been modernised and other renovation work effected at the Polish Library in Paris (LIBRARIUS Programme).

(6) Archaeological excavations at the Great Ryzhanov Tumulus carried out in Ukraine in 1997 and 1998, by a research team from the Jagiellonian University Institute of Archaeology (SUBIN Programme).


(7) Excavations at the temple of Jove at Balaklava in the Crimea, carried out by researchers from the Warsaw University Institute of Archaeology, partially financed by FNP (SUBIN Programme).


(8) Headquarters of the Warsaw University Centre for Mediterranean Archaeology in Cairo (PONT Programme).


(9) Specialised equipment for archaeologists of the Warsaw University Centre for Mediterranean Archaeology in Cairo, involved in a research project at Sakkar in Egypt (SUBIN Programme).


(10) Between 1994 and 2001, FNP provided funds for numerous library and archive search projects in Russia, Ukraine and Belarus, thus contributing to priceless documents of the WWII period being made accessible to Polish scholars (ARCHIVES and SUBIN Programmes).


(11) A fragment of a citadel in Seraks (South Turkmenistan) discovered by a research team from the Warsaw University Institute of Archaeology, whose research project was partially funded by FNP (SUBIN Programme).
