FNP involvement
in European issues began in 1993: under an agreement between
the State Committee for Scientific Research and the Commission
of the European Communities, the Foundation was charged with
the task of managing Phare programmes (initially ,
and then ), developed to support reforms of the
science sector in Poland. During the years 1993-2000 these
activities were entrusted to the FNP Office for European
Co-operation. In addition, from the mid-1990's until the
year 2000 the Office was implementing the project,
and acting as co-ordinator of the Network
(Network of Innovation Relay Centres in Poland), partially
funded from
the budget of the INCO-COPERNICUS Programme.
