Every
year, the Foundation for Polish Science manages a number of
programmes dedicated to scientists engaged
in all fields of study. These schemes include, among others: the FNP
Prize, regarded as the most prestigious of its kind in Poland,
academic grants for professors, numerous stipends addressed, to a large extent to young scholars, and subsidies aimed at establishing new research groups. Their common objective is
to respond with the maximum flexibility possible to the versatile
needs of the scientific community in Poland. As a contribution
to the development of international co-operation, the FNP has also
launched programmes targeted at scientists from abroad who
are interested in conducting their research in Poland.
In 2007 annual allocations to be
awarded by the FNP to its beneficiaries will exceed
26 million zloty (over 6 mln euros) while last year the accumulated value of resources spent by the Foundation on programmes surpassed 290 million zloty (ca. 75 mln euros).
