Alexander von Humboldt Foundation
FNP has been cooperating with AvH since 1995, when the two foundations signed a cooperation agreement. Based on this agreement, FNP created a programme of Alexander von Humboldt Honorary Research Fellowship for excellent German scientists to enable them to make research visits to Poland (for up to 12 months). This programme aims to strengthen cooperation between Polish ad German scientists and between their home institutions. The scholarships offered by FNP are equivalent to the prizes offered by AvH to Polish scientists among others. Thanks to cooperation between FNP and AvH, former Polish recipients of scholarships from the Humboldt Foundation can apply additionally for a 12-month return scholarship from AvH, and after its completion also a three-month grant in Germany. Persons applying for an AvH return scholarship can also seek an FNP subsidy under the HOMING programme.
It should be noted that applications for AvH return scholarships can be submitted within 6 months of the end of the placement, and applications for FNP return subsidies not earlier than 12 months before the return to Poland and not later than 6 months after. AvH also offers its scholarship recipients from Poland the possibility of taking part in a scientific exchange programme between the recipient’s Polish centre and the host institution in Germany, and also in a conference scholarship programme.
