NSF (USA)
The National Science Foundation (NSF) is a US government agency, set up in 1950 by Congress for the purpose of supporting the development of science. It has a budget of around 6 billion dollars, and is one of the chief sources of finance for fundamental research carried out at American colleges and universities.
