The Kosciuszko Foundation
The Kosciuszko Foundation is one of the most dynamic Polish émigré institutions, founded in 1925 in New York. The Foundation awards scholarships to doctoral students, scientists and artists, among others, and also popularizes and spreads information about the history of Polish culture and learning (exhibitions, lectures, competitions), building a positive image of Poland among the American public. Apart from its headquarters in New York, the Foundation also has branches in other cities, including Chicago, Denver, Houston, Los Angeles, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, Springfield and Buffalo. FNP cooperates with the Kosciuszko Foundation for such purposes as activating and integrating the community of scientists with Polish roots working in the US and the development in the US of centres researching Poland.
