The FNP Prize
Individual prize for eminent researchers for their outstanding achievements or discoveries. Regarded as the most prestigious of its kind in Poland.
Since 1992, the Foundation for Polish Science has awarded individual prizes to scientists each year for particular achievements and discoveries which have made a significant contribution to spiritual life and progress of civilization in our country and provided Poland with a place in world science. The prize may be awarded for individual achievements which have been attained or confirmed within a period of four years preceding the date of submission of candidacy.
Candidates for the Prize can be Polish scientists, as well as foreigners who have lived and worked in Poland for at least four years or who work in fields relating to Poland.
The prize is awarded in four areas:
- humanities and social sciences,
- natural and medical sciences,
- pure sciences,
- technical sciences.
The value of the prize in 2008 was 200 000 PLN (gross).
