The Foundation for Polish Science has been supporting the best science and scientists for over 30 years. The Foundation was established in 1991 and is a non-governmental, apolitical, and non-profit institution with a mission to support science.

Over the last 30 years, the FNP provided over PLN 1710 million to support science from its own resources and from structural funds of the European Union. The Foundation awarded over 12,600 scholarships, subsidies, and prizes to scientists from all fields and stages of their scientific careers, supported the establishment of over 560 new research teams, and in recent years, contributed to the establishment of 14 centers of scientific excellence under the International Research Agendas programme.

Since its inception, the FNP seeks to support young scientists. Related flagship programmes include the START programme ? the oldest and the largest scholarship programme in Poland ? in which the FNP funded more than 3800 scholarships, providing young scientists with more than PLN 87 million.

Moreover, the Foundation created a prestigious book series FNP Monographs, which already published over 230 books in humanities and social sciences.
