FNP laureates in ERC video

We encourage you to watch the short film: “The ERC, where dreams come true, ” presenting three Polish winners of European Research Council grants for outstanding young scholars conducting research in Europe. They are also laureates of Foundation for Polish Science programmes.

The scholars featured in the video are:

  • Prof. Janusz Bujnicki of the International Institute of Molecular and Cell Biology in Warsaw, a winner in FNP?s START and TEAM programmes, who received an ERC grant in 2010
  • Dr Justyna Olko from the Artes Liberales Interdisciplinary Research Institute at the University of Warsaw, a winner in FNP?s FOCUS programme, who received an ERC grant in 2011
  • Prof. Maciej Konacki of the Nicolaus Copernicus Astronomical Centre of the Polish Academy of Sciences, a winner in FNP?s FOCUS programme, who received an ERC grant in 2010
  • Dr Marcin Nowotny of the International Institute of Molecular and Cell Biology in Warsaw, a winner in FNP?s START programme, who received an ERC grant in 2011.

All of the researchers are also beneficiaries of the Foundation?s Ideas for Poland programme, which encourages outstanding young scholars from all over the world to choose Poland as the location for carrying out research grants submitted to ERC competitions.

So far ten young Polish researchers have won an ERC Starting Grant, and three experienced researchers have won an ERC Advanced Grant. All of them are also winners of FNP programmes.
