On 13-14 October, 2014, the Copernicus Science Centre in Warsaw will play host to the conference “Towards a New Concept of Excellence in Research?”, organised by the Foundation for Polish Science in conjunction with the European Foundation Centre.
The objective of the conference will be to discuss the evolution of the concept of excellence in science and ways to successfully identify and support the best scientific research. The conference will be attended by top representatives of European institutions financing scientific research, scientists and experts in science policy.
Conference participants will include:
- Prof. Jean-Pierre Bourguignon, President of the European Research Council (ERC)
- Prof. Anne Glover, former Chief Scientific Adviser to the President of the European Commission
- Prof. Maria Leptin, Director of the European Molecular Biology Organization (EMBO)
