The Ministry of Entrepreneurship and Technology has confirmed that topics explored in the humanities and social sciences are also included in Poland?s National Smart Specializations.
The National Smart Specializations (KIS) define the thematic scope of projects eligible for funding by the Foundation for Polish Science in the Smart Growth Operational Programme (POIR). Under the document entitled ?Correlation between the humanities and social sciences and Poland?s National Smart Specializations,? published by the ministry and developed on the basis of consultations with the KIS Working Groups, the humanities and social sciences fit within the substantive scope of the following National Smart Specializations:
- KIS 1: Healthy society,
- KIS 15: Photonics,
- KIS 12: Smart networks, information-communication and geoinformation networks,
- KIS 16: Smart creative technologies.
The assessment of the consistency of the project topic with the given National Smart Specialization is made in each case by the experts evaluating the specific application for project funding.
