“Towards a New Concept of Excellence in Research?* is a conference that will be held on 13-14 October 2014 at the Copernicus Science Centre in Warsaw, organized by the Foundation for Polish Science in association with the European Foundation Centre.

The purpose of the conference will be to discuss how the concept of excellence in research evolved and how to successfully identify and support the best scientific research. The conference participants will include high-ranking representatives of European research funding institutions, researchers and experts involved in research policy.
