The main goals of a visit of prof. Maciej Żylicz, President of the Foundation, and Michał Pietras, Director of the Programme Division, to Zagreb were a mutual presentation of the Polish and Croatian research environment, as well as sharing FNP’s experiences in using European funds to strengthen the country’s research potential. The Polish delegation was in Croatia on 22th and 23th July by invitation of the Croatian Science Foundation.
During the meetings with the CSF management and the authorities of the Croatian Ministry of Science, Education and Sports, guests from Poland presented the FNP’s experiences in implementing EU-funded programmes for supporting scientists. This issue was of key interest to the hosts as Croatia became a member of the European Union earlier this year.
Prof. Żylicz and Michał Pietras visited also the Ruđer Bošković Institute and met with the Institute’s researchers, which allowed them to discuss a possible cooperation between Polish and Croatian scientists.
