The Foundation together with the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) are launching the competition for their new award promoting Polish-American scientific cooperation. Established recently by the two organizations, the Polish-American Scientific Award will be granted for the first time in 2014 to two researchers, one from Poland and one from the United States, for joint outstanding scientific achievements. The winners will receive $5,000 each.
We would like to invite members of the Polish and U.S. scientific communities as well as anyone involved in scientific research administration at organizations that conduct research in a continuous manner (including companies) to submit nominees for this award. The award may be granted for remarkable scientific achievements in any field of research (except the arts). The deadline for submitting nominations is 15 December 2013.
The competition will be judged by a jury appointed jointly by the FNP and the AAAS. The award will be granted every two years and the presentation will take place alternately in the United States and Poland.
The Polish-American Scientific Award is the first joint FNP and AAAS project, the effect of an agreement on cooperation signed this May. It is the intention of both organizations to support and promote exceptional research achievements resulting from Polish-American scientific cooperation.
