We invite young scholars to file applications for the 2016 edition of the START programme. The START stipend is a distinction for the most talented young researchers, awarded in recognition of their achievements so far.

In the competition for START stipends, the primary criteria are the quality and originality of the candidate?s scientific achievements to date and the candidate?s single most significant research achievement.

We encourage young scholars interested in participating in the competition for an annual research stipend of PLN 28,000 (to be used for any purpose) to review the START Programme Rules and the START 2016 Application Instructions, which are published on the START programme website. There they will find detailed information about the criteria and method of evaluation of applications as well as a description of the specific stages of the competition.

We also invite all candidates to apply for a study visit to a foreign research centre. Financing for study visits will be awarded to winners after the START competition is decided, on the basis of the criteria described in the START 2016 Application Instructions.

Applications in the START 2016 competition may be filed from 18 September 2015 through 30 October 2015.
