
On Wednesday, December 4, 2024, the Foundation for Polish Science presented for the 33rd time the FNP Prize, considered the most important scientific honor in our country. The FNP awarded the Prize to Dr. hab. Sebastian Glatt from the Malopolska Center of Biotechnology at Jagiellonian University, Prof. Janusz Lewinski from the Faculty of Chemistry at Warsaw University of Technology and the Institute of Physical Chemistry of the Polish Academy of Sciences, Prof. Krzysztof Sacha from the Institute of Theoretical Physics at Jagiellonian University, Prof. Marcin Wodziński from the Department of Jewish Studies at the University of Wrocław.
The ceremony gathered representatives of state authorities, the scientific community, as well as families, colleagues, and friends of the winners. Małgorzata Kidawa-Błońska, Speaker of the Senate of the Republic of Poland, graced the ceremony with her presence.



The winners received statuettes and diplomas from the hands of Prof. Grażyna Jurkowlaniec, Chairman of the Council of the Foundation for Polish Science, and Prof. Maciej Żylicz, President of the FNP. Short films prepared presented the winners’ research achievements.




The ceremony included speeches (in chronological order) by Prof. Maciej Żylicz, Małgorzata Kidawa-Błońska, Prof. Grażyna Jurkowlaniec, the FNP Prize winners. The ceremony included a concert by young musicians, recipients of the National Fund for Children scholarship.
