The Foundation for Polish Science (FNP) has officially joined the Rome Coalition. On Wednesday, February 18, FNP President of the Board, prof. Krzysztof Pyrć, in the presence of the Ambassador of Ukraine, Vasyl Bodnar, signed the Rome Declaration of Intent for Science, Research, and Innovation in Ukraine.

The Rome Coalition is an international initiative that unites governments, foundations, and research agencies. Its mission is to protect and develop Ukraine’s intellectual potential in the face of the ongoing war and the country’s post-war reconstruction.

The primary objectives of the Coalition include:
•    Support for researchers working within Ukraine.
•    Modernization of the innovation sector, including efforts to rebuild research infrastructure and implement modern innovation standards.
•    Integration into the European scientific ecosystem.
•    Development of research programs that yield mutual benefits for Ukraine and its international partners.
Collaboration within the Coalition will allow signatories to better coordinate activities, exchange best practices, and build an international consensus around the challenges facing the Ukrainian scientific system.

"Science has no boundaries, but it needs a base to prosper. The Foundation for Polish Science joining the Rome Coalition is not only a gesture of solidarity but also a commitment to supporting the construction of a modern innovation system. This system will become a pillar of Ukraine's post-war reconstruction and will strengthen science across all of Europe." prof. Krzysztof Pyrć, President of the Board, FNP.
